Week 2, 8/28: LaTex

Reading:  Math into LaTeX, Gratzer, Introduction and Chapter 1
     should be completed by Fri. 9/1
     (See "Web Resources" section of course web page for link.) 

Problems (due Fri. 9/8): 

1.   Write a .tex file that will create the document "hw02out.pdf."
     A template of a Latex article and a .ps file of the graph are
     available under the "Handouts."

     Submit your homework by sending me email with two files attached:
         a. the .tex file
         b. the .pdf file of the formatted document

     (Hint:  You may need to put in a {\tt \newpage} before the bibliography
      in order to get the graphic to come out in the right place.)

2.  (optional) Search the web to find instructions for authors submitting
    articles in Latex to either Statistics in Medicine or to the Journal 
    of the American
    Statistical Association.  Revise your .tex file from question 1 to 
    match the style rquirements of one of these two journals. 

    Submit the .tex file for this question as a third attachment to your
    email.
