Colloquium Title:
Packaging Least- Squares Means for R
Location:
Reception at 3 p.m. in 241 B Schaeffer Hall / Talk at 3:30 p.m. in 140 Schaeffer Hall.

Abstract: Least-squares means, or LSMEANS, are a popular option among SAS users when following-up on analysis of experimental data. They have not been very easy to get in R, though, and a Google search of "R LSMEANS" will reveal two things: (a) that a lot of people want them; and (b) that they are controversial.

You can in fact get LSMEANS in R, if you hold your tongue just right. But should you? And what are they anyway? The talk will discuss these matters, and describe the development process of an R package that makes LSMEANS possible with a more comfortable tongue position.
