All graduate students in the department are automatically members of the Graduate Students in Statistics and Actuarial Science (GSSAS). This organization sponsors a social event each spring, organizes various social and recreational gatherings, meets when issues of concern to graduate students arise, and sponsors visiting speakers. Elections for president and vice president are held each spring.
