Purpose of the Statistics Tutorial Lab
To make extra help available in introductory statistics courses. Sometimes your instructor's or TA's office hours don't mesh well with your schedule. Sometimes you may be reluctant to ask your own teacher for help. The Statistics Tutorial Lab is here to help make up for such difficulties.
Free tutoring is available for students in these statistics courses:
  • 22S:002 Statistics and Society
  • 22S:008 Statistics for Business
  • 22S:025/07P:025 Elementary Statistics and Inference
  • 22S:039 Probability and Statistics for the Engineering and Physical Sciences
You must come prepared. Bring with you:
  • your textbook
  • notes, handouts, and other materials relevant to your questions(s)
  • specific questions to ask

2009 Tutorial Lab Schedule
Location of the Statistics Tutorial Lab

Please note
  • TAs will help you clear up concepts that confuse you, and will try to guide you to figure out for yourself how to solve assigned and unassigned problems. They will not give direct answers to homework problems.
  • TAs will elect to provide either one-on-one tutoring or small-group tutoring, depending on current demand.
  • You must sign in the notebook by the door before you can get help. Information from the sign-in sheets is used only to track lab usage.
  • No appointment is necessary; but if the lab is busy, you may need to wait a little while to get help.
  • The department also provides a list of Private Tutors, who will provide one-on-one tutoring for a fee.
